This Privacy Policy describes how Rubin IPTV Player ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses and shares information when you use our Android application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

The App allows you to enter IPTV playlist credentials (server URLs, usernames, passwords, MAC addresses). This information is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers. We do not have access to your IPTV provider credentials.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

Through third-party SDKs integrated in the App, the following information may be collected automatically:

  • Device identifiers — including Android Advertising ID (AAID/GAID)
  • Device information — device model, operating system version, language and region settings
  • App usage data — features used, screens visited, session duration, app events
  • Crash and diagnostic data — stack traces, error logs, performance metrics
  • Network information — IP address, network type (Wi-Fi / mobile data)
  • Purchase information — subscription status via Google Play Billing (no payment card data is accessed by us)

2. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services that may collect data independently under their own privacy policies:

2.1 Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display banner advertisements to users on the free tier. AdMob may collect your Advertising ID and device information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. Users in regions with applicable privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) may be shown a consent dialog before personalized ads are enabled.

2.2 Firebase Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. Firebase Analytics collects app usage events, device information and advertising identifiers. This data is used solely to improve the App's features and user experience.

2.3 Firebase Crashlytics

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and stability data. When the App crashes, Crashlytics sends a report containing device state information, stack traces and an installation UUID to help us diagnose and fix issues. No personally identifiable information is intentionally included in crash reports.

2.4 Google Play Billing

The App offers an optional Premium subscription ("Rubin Premium Yearly") processed through Google Play Billing. All payment transactions are handled entirely by Google. We receive only your subscription status (active/inactive) — we never access, store or process your payment card details.

2.5 TMDB (The Movie Database)

The App uses the TMDB API to fetch movie and series metadata (titles, descriptions, posters, cast). Queries to TMDB include the content title being searched. No personal user data is sent to TMDB. TMDB Privacy Policy: themoviedb.org/privacy-policy

3. Advertising ID

The App declares use of the Android Advertising ID (via the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission) for the purposes of advertising (Google AdMob) and analytics (Firebase Analytics). Users can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through their device's Google Settings → Ads.

4. How We Use Your Information

The information collected is used to:

  • Display relevant advertisements to free-tier users
  • Analyze App usage to improve features and performance
  • Identify and fix crashes and technical issues
  • Verify your Premium subscription status
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data collected by third-party SDKs (AdMob, Firebase) is shared with Google LLC under their respective terms. We do not share your IPTV credentials or personal information with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

Analytics and crash data retained by Firebase is subject to Google's standard retention periods. Advertising data collected by AdMob is retained per Google's policies. IPTV credentials stored locally on your device are retained until you delete the playlist or uninstall the App.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data held about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Opt out of personalized advertising (via Google Ads Settings)
  • Withdraw consent for data processing where applicable

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We rely on industry-standard security practices provided by Google's Firebase and AdMob infrastructure. IPTV credentials you enter are stored locally on your device using Android's standard storage mechanisms. We recommend keeping your device updated and protected with a screen lock.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
